Dr Angela Pierce is both Principal Solicitor at Angela Pierce and Associates and a dentist. She has a PhD in Dentistry from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, a Master of Laws from ANU, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Her legal practice focuses on health and medical law, disciplinary hearings and professional boards including complaints, malpractice, Ahpra and tribunal matters, criminal defence, university appeals and misconduct, and employment law with a focus on drafting and advising on work contracts in the health sector. She also has expertise in wills and estates law.
Angela has undertaken civil litigation in a variety of matters in the higher courts, including commercial disputes, university administrative appeals, and complex trust and estate matters.
As a practising dentist, she served as state president of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), and as a member of both branch and national boards of the ADA for several years. At the University of Adelaide, she undertook roles as Associate Dean of Dentistry and Deputy Convenor of the Academic Board.
In 2021, Angela was awarded ADASA Branch Life Membership and a Distinguished Service Award by the national ADA for her services to the dental profession.
Angela has sat on several professional disciplinary tribunals and is currently a Deputy Director of the Commonwealth Department of Health Professional Services Review examining the provision of Medicare services by health practitioners. She has also served as a professional member of the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Angela’s clients are based Australia-wide and, in 2022, she moved her law practice to Sydney.
She is a member of both the Law Society of NSW and the Law Society of South Australia.
